Migos’ 10 Best Songs: Critic’s Picks

ATL’s own Migos have been lacing the charts with club bangers and buzzworthy bars since their Y.R.N. debut single, “Versace.” Between their huge influence on the current trap scene and platinum-selling Billboard Hot 100 entries, the trio have solidified themselves as a force to be reckoned with in hip-hop.

As hip-hop explodes globally, Migos’ hometown rooted lyricism grows alongside it. Below, Billboard combs through the flamboyant crew’s iced-out singles. Here are the ten best Migos songs to date. 

10. Migos – “Hannah Montana”

Migos used Miley Cyrus’ most famous acting role for their unshakably catchy drug personification, “Hannah Montana, Hannah Montana/ I got molly, I got white,” the plug everything but medicinal.  

9. Migos – “Fight Night”

“Hit it with the left, hit it with the right,” goes the Takeoff-rapped hook to “Fright Night,” and indeed, the song’s brain-sticking chrous and eye-catching music video allowed the ATL-drawled lullaby to punch through the Hot 100 charts. With the tune’s knockout bars (“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee/ Rumble, young n—a, rumble”), the witty wordsmiths proved their lyrical dexterity.

8. Migos – “Get Right Witcha”

Hustlers’ ambition was represented through the boastful anthem, “Get Right Witcha.” The horse-and-stable-featuring video was released immediately following Migos becoming the first hip-hop group to shine on the Met Gala stage — ironic timing, considering some of the song’s anti-establishment lyrics (“I ain’t really here to take no pictures / Middle finger up, fuck the system.”)

7. Migos – “Versace”

Fans may not have been able to afford the pricey brand, but they chanted “Versace” like they owned its designer tags. Quavo’s controversial wordplay, “Versace, Versace, Medusa head on me like I’m ‘Luminati,” sparked conversation regarding the secret society. The fiery single would later receive Drake’s stamp of approval as the 6 God graced the remix. 

6. Migos – “Slippery” feat. Gucci Mane

Southern gold grills flashed at the models twerking in tiny bathing suits for Migos’ “Slippery” pool party. The VHS-inspired video featured dazzling jewelry bars from Gucci Mane and a speedboat cameo from P. Diddy, himself. The Atlanta crew’s signature silk shirts were bombastic as the Rolls Royces they rapped in front of, setting a tone of luxury and seduction. Admirers took Migos’ “Splash, drip, drip, woo, splash” hook to the next level, by creating suggestive memes which flooded cyberspace.

5. Calvin Harris – “Slide” feat. Migos and Frank Ocean

Calvin Harris scored another Hot 100 top 40 hit after recruiting Migos and Frank Ocean for the summery single, “Slide.” The record is an ode to the opportunists who scheme on the wealthy, and Ocean’s pitched-up intro — “Empty my bank account/ And buy that boy with a pipe/ I might” — made for a colorful introduction to this feel-good beat.

4. Gucci Mane – “I Get the Bag” feat. Migos 

Migos offered guest bars to their hometown hero, Gucci Mane, for his 2017 hit single “I Get The Bag.” Viewers were greeted at Gucci’s mansion in the song’s by a high-heeled, lingerie-clad army, pouring up the Belaire bubbly. The clip’s gambling storyline paired well with the banger’s memorable chorus, “You get the bag and fumble it/ I get the bag and flip it and tumble it.” Even so, the roulette-loving emcees were sure to toss their earnings throughout Guwop’s extravagant dwelling, in true hip-hop fashion.

3. Migos – “T-Shirt”

This Migos song paid homage to a hometown legend, Shawty Lo, after his passing, with the high-end drug reference, “Seventeen five, same color T-shirt.” The radio smash was their second single from their sophomore album Culture, and peaked at No. 19 on the Hot 100. Amplifying the momentousness was the trio’s instantly iconic, Eskimo-cold “T-Shirt” music video. 

2. Migos – “MotorSport” feat. Nicki Minaj & Cardi B

Cardi B and Nicki Minaj raced their spaceship coupes to the No. 6 spot on the Hot 100, alongside Migos, for the scorching “MotorSport.” The futuristic upbeat collaboration broke the Internet, as Cardi and Nicki’s verses were assumed to be shot at one another. — something both MCs later vehemently denied. Still, the single’s auto-themed video sparked the most conversation, as Nicki Minaj donned a transparent bodysuit, and Offset and Cardi B’s real-life flirtations further galvanized the couple’s fans.

1. Migos – “Bad and Boujee” feat. Lil Uzi Vert

The infectious “Bad & Boujee” went from being the meme-worthy “Raindrop, drop top” viral sensation to nabbing a shoutout by fellow MC, Donald Glover, at the 2017 Golden Globes. The Atlanta trappers were smitten with dapper around-the-way girls in their juxtaposition-filled music video. In the midst of grabbing Chanel-boxed takeout, devouring Cup Noodles bites and sipping Armand de Brignac, Migos and Lil Uzi Vert dethroned Ed Sheeran’s tune “Shape Of You” from the Hot 100 top spot last January.
