What would abuelita think if she caught sight of the beauty look at the Givenchy Fall 2015 runway show?

She’d say they took her age-old advice — never leave the house without a pair of earrings — one step too far.

Pat McGrath, who created the fantastical makeup looks at this weekend’s Parisian show, told Style.com it took six hours to create. She called the look “Chola Victorian,” and said the hardest part was figuring out how to get the heavy jewelry to stay on.

If those elaborate face jewels didn’t grab your attention, the chola hair certainly would. The matted down kiss curls and braids with severe center parts juxtaposed with the ornate face jewelry (does anyone else see gaucho-esque mustaches as well?) made for quite the show. Tell us: love it? Or can’t stand it?
