Dynamo corporations Gilt and Livelihood Inc. threw a soirée where politicians and designers rubbed elbows for an eye-catching cause.

Ashley Biden, Livelihood’s founder and daughter of former Vice President, Joe Biden, hosted an evening with rim-filled delicious concoctions and chic philanthropy. The social worker turned fashionista’s made-in-the-USA hoodie collection premiered just before New York Fashion Week and caused applause with joyful tears.

“You taught me to chase after my dreams, to do what I’m passionate about, to keep going when I’m knocked down, and you taught me all I know about kindness, compassion and making this world a better place,” said an overwhelmed Biden, to her epic parents.

Saks Off 5th and Gilt President, Jonathan Greller, floated about the affair as he proudly strengthened the new innovated hooded assortment. Familiar faces, such as Al Sharpton, and Olivia Palmero supported the cause while enjoying the sounds of the stylish DJ Mia Moretti. Ashley Biden’s mother and father graciously mingled among A-Listers, well-known wardrobe architects, and journalist – even taking the time to snap selfies with enthusiasts. The versatile hoodie styles and calming colorways can be purchased on Gilt.com, and 100% of proceeds will benefit Livelihood’s mission to communal redevelopment. The company’s grassroots civic participation will now burst from closets globally.

Livelihood is a socially and ethically conscious apparel company which encourages everyday people to contribute locally. Puerto Rican comedic actress Aubrey Plaza will serve as the face of the Gilt x Livelihood collection. The event told its guest to #GetInvolvedInYourHood and featured inspiring arrivals.

“My daughter Ashley’s commitment to public service, her commitment to trying to change the world for the better, is more intense than even mine has been,” said Joe Biden.

This was his first appearance following the Trump administration coming into power – Biden remains a man of the people.
