They don’t call her #KarenTheSiren for nothing!

Karen Rodriguez paid a heartfelt homage to Whitney Houston, on the fifth anniversary of her passing, with a Spanglish cover of “I Will Always Love You.” Maggie Carles sang the original “Amor Siempre Tú,” however, Rodriguez’s tribute to the late legend is undeniably breathtaking. The Roc Nation Latin singer/songwriter previously expressed her admiration for Houston on American Idol with her 10th Season audition tape of “You Give Good Love,” and blew Jennifer Lopez away.

The songbird recalls seeing Houston perform the 1992 film hit single from The Bodyguard, and has a new found appreciation for the message behind the music. “I was too young to understand the song’s meaning, but the emotional weight her voice carried through each lyric deeply resonated with me,” Rodriguez explained. Her phenomenal vocal capabilities never disappoints fans.
