ta-ku-jaden-smith-beast-mode-12Jaden Smith (never to be outdone by lil sis) proves he’s got bars for days on the smooth, undulating (at least) three-parter “Beast Mode.” The Ta-ku produced cut finds the heir to Bel Air in what is easily his sharpest verbal performance, taking no breaths as the atmospheric beat flips over and over again. Perhaps you didn’t think all to much of his This Is The Album drop from earlier this month (another three-tracker with enigmatic music man Daniel D’Artiste) or the other 3-track something we got back in October with Prakruti, but we’ve got a hunch that you might take interest in this new test of his lyrical aptitude and endurance. And whatever your take on the young Smiths might be, you gotta give them credit for being what is easily the most productive and outwardly creative duo of (barely) teens you’ve ever come across. That in itself is something we should all do our damnedest to fall back from stifling, especially when they’re linking with Ta-ku, SZA, Childish Gambino and the like. Rock with Jaden Smith’s 9-minute flex “Beast Mode” below and stay tuned for the next episode.
